For some time we had been investigating adding an extension to our property and making internal alterations to our Grade 2 listed Victorian property.
It wasn't, however, until we had a meeting with rlmac architect that we felt confident enough to set out and get the work started. The whole project turned out to be a surprisingly stress free event.
We were on a fixed budget and I think from watching TV programmes on house improvements where costs spiralled, we were keen to ensure that we didn't end up in a financial situation beyond our control.
The way this was ensured was by having a very tight, realistic manifesto of the work and an itemised costing. It is to the credit of Rowan Maclachlan that not only was the job completed on time, through one of the worst winters in history, but it also came in on budget.
One of the particularly impressive aspects was the level of personal attention provided to us by rlmac. This meant that nothing was left to chance, they ensured great attention to detail and such was the relationship that we never felt awkward about asking for further information or advice. Even after the job had been completed the company came back on a number of occasions to check whether the build was working the way it was intended.
The company also gave advice on potential design and decorative details that maximised the overall potential of the areas developed. They also had an innovative approach to making best use of some of the more awkward areas altered during this project.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this splendid company to anyone endeavouring to set out on what can be a difficult and expensive journey if not properly managed and controlled.
